Acupuncture has enjoyed ever increasing popularity among a vast segment of the patient population.
A significant and growing body of evidence substantiates its efficacy for a wide variety of clinical
conditions. Acupuncture is now, in many cases, considered a physician-reimbursable procedure by
third-party payers, thus reflecting its being accepted as good medical practice. It is therefore
imperative that more physicians actively learn and practice these techniques since they represent the
class of health care professionals best positioned to deliver this care synergistically alongside
"modern" or "Western" medical interventions. The necessity of this course, as well as the
enthusiasm with which it is received annually by its participants, is well
documented.
